Sometimes we forget
With all the troubles in the world, I think that sometimes we forget just how blessed we are. We get into this little space in our mind and can't seem to see the big picture. It is very easy to find dark gruesome doomsday end of the world reading and listening materials. We tend to have a tendency to scare the crap out of ourselves, why do you think horror movies and novels are so popular? Paying attention to the dark side keeps us aware, ready and safe but we should never focus our entire attention on it. Focused attention on the dark side of life just gives it too much power. You have to give the majority of your thoughts to the positive, lighter side of your existence. The saying "Count your Blessings" shouldn't be taken lightly. Gratitude for what you have is so important.
With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday we celebrate in the USA, my thoughts turn to how fortunate I am. If I compare my situation to what the television advertisements and programs say I should be like, then my life sucks. If I look at my life in real world practical terms, I am doing great. It's all perspective and no one has the right to tell you you aren't good enough, smart enough or well off enough.
How does this relate to the 2012 Truth you might ask?
We are coming into a time when many trials and tribulations will be laid before us. The choices we make will be crucial to our ability to move beyond these tough times. It is essential to be secure in who you are. Your values and beliefs must be positive and established before you are exposed to the harsh reality of what may come. If not, you run the risk of drifting into the insane behavior that chaos will bring. Now is the time to take a look at your life and the way you live it. Look at what you value and determine its real importance in the grand scheme of things. What are your beliefs based on? Will they stand up to the most harsh and chaotic times you can imagine? Are your values and beliefs a part of your very essence or are you just giving lip service to them? Take some time to look inward this month and… for the rest of your life. Become grounded in who you are. Be grateful for what you have.
P.S. I was organizing my files on my computer today and I came across this file. It was the inspiration for the post today. Maybe some of you have heard it before, and could stand to absorb it again. For those of you who haven't heard it, enjoy.
